Instructional Leadership (Strand II, St. 1)

Transformational Leaders need to consider the needs and pay personal attention to the individuals in the system as adult learners.

"Focus on Student Results" relates to the third "I" = "Inspirational Motivation".

"Knowledge of the Curriculum" relates to another "I" = "Intellectual Stimulation" because it takes "old problems and looks at them in new ways."

1-B "Monitoring" requires that a transformational leader to consider the needs and pay personal attention to others.  Through "Inspirational Motivation", the leader can establish "clear expectations" at a high level.

Leaders and followers work together to "raise" one another to a higher level of motivation (Reciprocational learning & leading)

Shared Leadership (Strand II, St. 2)

Shared Leadership componants under the performance indicators of Michigan Ed Yes incorporate all of the four "I"s of a transformational leader.

Tranformational leadership is the "umbrella" - Under shared leadership models, decisions need to be clarified as either shared decisions, top-made decisions based on input, top-made decsions that lack input but had to be made.
