Your Group's Assignment:  When you have completed your reading and web search, collectively respond to the questions below in preparation to "teach" your concept with your original "home group."

 

 

Using This Wiki

Define the Theory

 

 SL=f(L,F,S)  In English, this means that leadership is a function of the Leader, the Follower and the Situation--leadership style must change dependent upon the compentencies of the followers and the dynamics of the situation

 

 

 

 

What are the outcomes?  When might this leadership style be used?

 

 When the leader needs a creative look at a situation such as crisis planning, strategic planning, rubrics for teacher observations and evaluations, when the leader needs to implement new technology or new curriculum, mentoring new teachers, inspirational change, facilitating the movement of experienced teachers, or evaluation of systems or programs that are no longer effective (Theory "U")

 

 

 

What are the critical skills an administrator would need to be able to demonstrate this leadership style?

 

 Interpersonal skills, manage vision, organizational agility, listening, focus, trust, personally as well as organizationally reflective, be able to assess talents (know staff and their competencies), instantaneous analysis of situation and needs assessment, patience
