Collective Knowledge about Participative Leadership

 


Your Group's Assignment:  When you have completed your reading and web search, collectively respond to the questions below in preparation to "teach" your concept with your original "home group."

 

 

Using This Wiki

Define the Theory

 

 

 Team building, collaborative theory. Involves share leadership and decision making.  

 

 

 

 

What are the outcomes?  When might this leadership style be used?

 

 Increases motivitation, better decision making because you have more information and experience brought to the table. People are more apt to cooperative and join in processes they have initiated. Shared vision and purpose. Increases creativity and innovation. Highlights the strength of the leader and respect form team members.

 

 School improvement, dress code, curriculum, community involvement, discipline procedures, to accomplish positive change and to increase committment so people will support the changes.

 

 

What are the critical skills an administrator would need to be able to demonstrate this leadership style?

 

 Listening, praise, confidence of leader to accept input from others, management skills and direct/focus the process
