Collective Knowledge about Situational Leadership

 


Your Group's Assignment:  When you have completed your reading and web search, collectively respond to the questions below in preparation to "teach" your concept with your original "home group."

 

 

Using This Wiki

  1. Select a recorder.

Define the Theory

A Situational Leader is one who can adopt different leadership styles depending on the situation and or developmental level.

Telling/Directing

Outcome: High Task Focus but a Low Relationship Focus

Follower: Low Competence and Low Commitment/Unable or unwilling or insecure

 

Selling Coaching

Outcome: Hight Task Focus and a High Relationship Focus

Follower: Some Competnece/Variable Commitment/Unable but willing or motivated

 

Participating/Supporting

Outcome: Low Task Focus and a High Relationship Focus

Follower: High Competnece, Variable Commitment/Unable but unwilling or insecure

 

Delegating/Observing

Outcome: Low Task Focus in the Low Relationship Focus

Follower: High Competence, High Commitment/Able or willing or motivated
