Define the Theory

All stakeholders take part in decision-making; collaborative, side-by-side leadership.  (Kurt Lewin-group  dynamics@ MIT , closest to servant leadership-Greenleaf)

What are the outcomes?  When might this leadership style be used?

Buy-in to decisons because they are active participants in the process.  Greater understanding by all stakeholders.  Power of many minds vs. individual isolation

For establishing shared vision and values.  When there is a need for a change.  Development of school improvement plans

What are the critical skills an administrator would need to be able to demonstrate this leadership style?

Collaborative spirit, confidence and trust in group's intellect, good listening skills, good facilitator, willingness to build relationships and courage to reliquish control
