Define the Theory
This theory emphasizes the leadership role as steward of the resources of the organization. The leader looks to the needs of the members of the organization first, and tries to supply whatever is needed.

What are the outcomes? When might this leadership style be used?
One key outcome is to enhance the growth of individuals in the organization. Another key outcome is to increase teamwork, collaboration, and the personal involvement of every individual. Ideally, this creates more leaders, and when the organization's internal needs are met, the organization is able to meet needs outside of itself.
This leadership style might be used when the organization's goals are already clearly understood. It is helpful wherever collaboration is needed to meet goals, and is particularly effective when members of the organization are already committed to the need for change. Faith-based organization tend to use this model by their very nature.
What are the critical skills an administrator would need to be able to demonstrate this leadership style?
Critical skills for an administrator include listening, empathy, trust, collaboration, healing, awareness, persuasion, foresight, encouragement, commitment to the growth of others, and building community. An administrator needs to have a clear sense of self and personal integrity so as not to violate boundaries and take advantage of the weaknesses of others, at the same time leading toward a common goal.
