Instructional Leadership
-
The Servant Leader uses persuasion. He/she seeks to convince rather coerce compliance.
-
The Servant Leader must also have foresight. He/she must take lessons from the past, be knowledgeable of the realities of the present, and know the likely consequences of the future.
-
The Servant Leader should also possess conceptualization skills, be able to think beyond the day to day realities, but still balance those future dreams with the present.
Shared Leadership
- The Servant Leader must be a good listener. He/she must be able to identify and clarify the will of the group.
- The Servant Leader must be empathetic; understand, accept, and recognize others as people.
- The Servant Leader must be a healer. He/she would heal the wounds caused by internal conflicts within the organization/school.
- The Servant Leader must have awareness; know what is going on throughout the organization.
Operational/Resource Management
-
As the operational manager, the Servant Leader would again utilize his/her awareness capacity to stay on top of what is happening throughout the organization.
-
The Servant Leader would also be a steward of his/her organization. He/she would be sure that each individual is participating in a certain capacity and has the necessary resources.
